ICT: edublogs as a way to improve text comprehension and production
Abstract
This article is the result of an educational qualitative research project completed with 5th grade students of a primary school in the municipality of Titiribí, Antioquia. The purpose was to improve text comprehension and production significantly with the aid of ICT (Information and Communications Technology), namely, edublogs or educational blogs. The research was is based on the premise that human cognition is sociocultural, since the learning process of individuals is nurtured by the surrounding culture. Thus, edublogs become tools in educational interventions. One of the main results of this project was that the students’ results in the Saber tests and academic reports improved significantly thanks to the activities proposed by the edublog. It is then concluded that academic processes in the 21st century must be accompanied by technology.
