Abstract

This paper provides a review of the first five chapters of the third edition of the book The Psychology of Music edited by Diana Deutsch, namely: 1) “The Perception of Musical Tones” by Andrew J. Oxenham; 2) “Musical Timbre Perception” by Stephen McAdams; 3) “Perception of Singing” by Johan Sundberg; 4) “Intervals and Scales” by William F. Thompson; and 5) “Absolute Pitch” by Diana Deutsch.
