The purpose of the article is to explore innovative projects for libraries and archives that demonstrate the global transformation of knowledge in the digital age, to analyze the results of the implementation of the German digital program WissensWandel with the support of the German Library Association (dbv). The research methods are based on systemic and structural approaches, including an interdisciplinary approach. Scientific novelty. The impact of the WissensWandel funding programme on the cultural and social activity of society during the pandemic, as well as on the development of digital offerings, is determined. It has been found that the launch of this programme as part of the Neustart Kultur future initiative in 2020 contributed to the expansion of new types of knowledge transfer services and access to book and media collections. The article highlights how the arrangement of creative spaces for collaborative digital creativity in libraries has contributed to the fulfilment of their function as meeting places in democratic discourse. Conclusions. Thus, the implementation of the WissensWandel projects has not only laid the foundation for innovation, but also contributed to the expansion of digital opportunities. The focus now needs to be on consolidating and expanding these digital initiatives to ensure that their potential in the social and cultural spheres is realised in the long term. The innovative services that have appeared in German libraries and archives as a result of the implementation of the WissensWandel program play an important role in the development of these institutions, covering a wide range of activities, expanded digital collections, improved online platforms for accessing resources and interactive learning tools. At the same time, the program contributed to the introduction of artificial intelligence technologies for cataloging and searching documents, as well as the development of mobile applications that provide users with easier access to library and archival materials. All this contributed to the development of educational programs that develop critical thinking skills and media literacy, which is extremely important in today's information society. All these initiatives not only increase the availability and usefulness of library and archival resources, but also contribute to the formation of public opinion and support of the educational mission in society.
