This study proposes a new application of Whale Optimization Algorithm (WOA) with an aim of finding optimal placement and size of Distributed Generation (DGs) for multi-objectives. Multi-objectives include power loss minimization, voltage profile improvement and operating cost minimization subjected to equality and inequality constraints. Proposed method has been demonstrated on 33-bus and 69-bus radial distribution test systems. Each test system is considered for two different cases: case 1: placing Type 1 DGs (only real power injection). Case 2: placing Type 2 DGs (both real and reactive power injection). Simulated results obtained from the proposed technique are compared with other well-known optimization algorithms like SA, BFOA and IWO and found to be more effective for multi-objectives.
