Front tracking for a 2X2 system of conservation laws
Abstract
This article studies a front-tracking algorithm for $2imes2$ systems of conservation laws. After revisiting the classical results of DiPerna [12] and Bressan [8], we address the case of a $2imes2$ system arising in the study of granular flows [2]. For the latter we prove the well-definiteness of a simplified front-tracking algorithm and its convergence to a weak entropic solution of the system, in the case of large BV initial data.
