Analysis of Application Cases of Foreign Re-coupling Marshalling Operation Organization Modes and Implications for Urban Rail Transit Operation Organization in China
Abstract
[Objective] Against the backdrop of the increasingly evident temporal and spatial imbalance of passenger flows in urban rail transit, it is difficult for the existing operation organization mode to adapt to the complex passenger flows. It is thus necessary to explore the operation organization mode of re-coupling marshalling so as to achieve a flexible matching between passenger flows with different characteristics and the transport capacity. [Method] Through literature analysis, the representative German spatio-temporal re-coupling operation mode and the Japanese "Wing Train" operation mode are taken as examples, to analyze the operation organization modes and related technical characteristics of lines such as Berlin S-Bahn, Munich S-Bahn and Yokosuka-Sobu Rapid Line. The characteristics and applicability of different re-coupling marshalling operation organization modes are also analyzed. Based on above analysis, reasonable suggestions for the innovation of urban rail transit operation organization mode in China are put forward. [Result & Conclusion] In the process of promotion and implementation of the re-coupling marshalling operation organization mode in China, different operation modes, such as different marshalling forms in different time periods and different sections, as well as direct operation, routing schemes and re-coupling marshalling combination should be adopted respectively, for lines with significant temporal or spatial imbalance of passenger flow, or with complexity in both temporal and spatial passenger flows. The efficient train coupling and uncoupling technology is one of the key technologies for the re-coupling marshalling operation organization mode. Online coupling and uncoupling or depot coupling and uncoupling should be carried out according to the actual conditions of the line, to further improve the service level of urban rail transit network.
