Les défis posés à la relation soignant-soigné par l’usage de l’ordinateur portable en soins à domicile
Abstract
In this article, we analyze the use of a laptop computer by long distance care givers based on testimonials gathered during 2005-2006. We shed light on the meaning that they give to their use of the laptop in the framework of their daily activities, or routines, at the homes of the patients they meet. We show that the use of the laptop raises many issues related to the healthcare practice in itself, and to the computer mediated communication in the relationship between a care giver and care receiver, particularly in the complex environment of long distance healthcare.
