Evolution of cooperation in costly institutions exhibits Red Queen and Black Queen dynamics in heterogeneous public goods
Abstract
Salahshour examines a theoretical model in which individuals have a choice between a costly institute and a free institute to perform a collective action task. This study shows how heterogeneity facilitates cooperation, and can lead to the coexistence of cooperators and defectors in a well-mixed and spatially-structured model.
