An Unpublished Letter from A. E. Housman on Tibullus, Juvenal and Horace

Abstract

This note gives the text of a letter drafted by A. E. Housman in reply to an un­named correspondent, perhaps J. P. Postgate, concerning the textual criticism of four passages in classical Latin poetry: Tibullus 1.1.39–40, 2.1.47–62; Juvenal 12.92; and Horace, Odes 1.35.22.
