THE DISCOURSE OF TV BROADCASTING REPORTS: AN ANALYSIS FROM THE “JORNAL NACIONAL”

Abstract

Since the beginning, which was thirty seven years ago, Jornal Nacional (from Globo network) was always an audience leader. Such hegemony made the telejornalism a reference of information. A report about the purchase of a dossier against politicians from the tucano party, which was showed by Jornal Nacional on September 15th in 2006, is the corpus of this research. This research aims at investigating how it was constitute the discourse of the TV broadcasting from the informative format, that is, the report, and at identifying traces of heterogeneity showed in its message. So, two heterogeneity concepts were defined: the Authier- Revuz and the modalities of citation based on Benites. It is also presented the definition of the report format and its elements. In the analysis, it was observed the great quantity of citations, such as in the direct discourse as in the indirect one, in order to eliminate the responsibility and increase the fidelity and authority level of the cited discourse.
