OPTIMIZATION OF THE 64CU PRODUCTION FROM NATURAL NICKEL TARGET AT A CYCLOTRON

Abstract

Based on the analysis of the energy dependence of the cross sections of the interaction of protons with energies of 10-15 MeV with a nickel target (a natural mixture of isotopes) and the half-lives of the resulting isotopes, the optimal conditions (proton beam energy and waiting time after irradiation) for obtaining the 64Cu isotope from natural nickel are determined.
