Dinitromethyl groups enliven energetic salts
Abstract
The research focus of studies on energetic salts has been to achieve targeted synthesis, structure and performance through modification of the organic anion and cation by addition of functional groups. In this review, the development direction and trend of research on the synthesis of energetic salts which contain dinitromethyl groups are considered briefly from the perspective of structural design, synthesis strategy and performance evaluation. The dinitromethyl moiety behaves as an excellent “explosophore” in the synthesis of high energy density materials. Developing new and convenient synthetic routes featuring the dinitromethyl group is of great value to the wider synthetic chemistry community. As a result, introduction of the dinitromethyl group has continued to increase rapidly.
