Énergie cérébrale et mémoire spirituelle
Abstract
During the end of the 19th century, psycho-physiological theory reduced memory and the psyche to a process of conservation, transformation and distribution of physico-chemical energy within the brain and the nerves. In order to refute this doctrine, Bergson hypothesizes the existence of a spiritual energy which escapes to the conservative principles of physical science. He links this hypothesis to his conception of pure memory. The article places Bergson’s spiritualism in its polemical and historical context, by confronting this one from a psycho-physiological point of view. energy, brain, memory, will, Bergson
