Co-authorship within the international conferences BOBCATSSS (2012-2021)
Abstract
Relevance. The scientific discourse within conferences is an important channel of the effective professional communication formation and a means of information exchanging. Their analysis provides an idea of the priority aspects of scientific, educational and practical activities, areas of professional cooperation, both in individual countries and at the interstate level. One of the aspects of professional communication is the co-authorship of specialists. The purpose of this paper is to identify international co-authorship based on the analysis of the materials of the BOBCATSSS conference during 2012-2021. The specificity of this conference is that undergraduate, graduateand postgraduate students not only participate in scientific discussions, but are also its main organizers. The study focused on determining the number of joint publications prepared by authors from different countries; establishing the number of authors of these publications; identification of institutions, whose authors jointly prepared the paper. Methodology. The materials of the annual BOBCATSSS conferences were selected for analysis. Quantitative characteristics of co-authorship were determined on the basis of the conference materials texts and the bibliometricsmethod use. Scientific novelty is that international co-authorship is a priority area of professional interaction. Conclusions. International co-authorship within BOBCATSSS conferences is not widespread. Only 18 papers havebeen prepared in ten years. The largest number of joint was prepared by two authors. The feature of the international co-authorship of LIS specialists remains the professional interaction between the leading countries. A high degree of participation in the preparation of joint publications with colleagues from other countries is observed among teachers and students from Turkey, Croatia, Bulgaria, USA. It is important and urgent to expand international cooperation through the preparation of joint publications, which will contribute to the formation of effective cooperation in the professional space.
