Characteristics of innovation and investment component of economic development in Ukraine

Abstract

This paper presents an analysis of innovation and investment constituents of the economic development of Ukraine. The author reviews opinions of experts on amount of investment needed to reform the Ukrainian economy as a whole and its separate strategic sectors. Special attention is paid to financing of research. The author proves the catastrophic decline of research financial support using the GDP deflator. The achieved results totally refute an official approach based on expenses in actual prices.
