Preliminary analysis of the structural seismic response observation data in Beijing recorded in Guye earthquake with magnitude 5.1
Abstract
Structural seismic response observation is an effective means to obtain the response state and characteristics of different building structures in earthquakes. Earthquake occurred in Guye District Tangshan City, Hebei Province with magnitude 5.1 triggered 10 structural seismic response observation arrays and abundant structural seismic response data were recorded. Preliminary analysis was carried out and dynamic amplification factors, instrument intensity as well were determined. Analysis results indicate that dynamic amplification factors are significantly different and steel frame structure has larger amplification factors than that for masonry structure. The array with short epicentral distances has larger instrument intensities with peak value of 2.5 degree. The No.19 Middle School is selected for data analysis in individual array. Horizontal accelerations are computed for floors and predominant frequencies are obtained based on cross-power spectrum analysis. Primary analyses suggest that the characteristic parameters can be achieved based on the observation recording data and it provides valid data base for understanding the structural characteristics.
