EFECTO DEL SEXO, TAMAÑO DE CAMADA Y NÚMERO DE PARTO SOBRE LOS PESOS AL NACIMIENTO Y AL DESTETE DE COBAYOS (Cavia porcellus) DEL GENOTIPO CIENEGUILLA // Sex, litter size and number of birth effect on birth and weaning weights of Guinea pigs (Cavia porcellus) genotype Cieneguilla

Abstract

RESUMEN El objetivo del presente estudio fue determinar el efecto del sexo, tamaño de camada y número de parto sobre los pesos al nacimiento y destete de 1.099 cobayos del genotipo Cieneguilla, de la Universidad Nacional Agraria La Molina, Perú. Se registraron los datos de distintas camadas desde el nacimiento al destete. Se analizó cada factor por separado y en conjunto, donde el sexo no influyó en los pesos al nacimiento y pesos al destete de las crías (P>0,05); mientras en el tamaño de camada (P 0.05); while in litter size (P <0.5) there is an inverse effect on the variables. At smaller litter size higher weights were reached. The litter size interrelate with the number of births creating an effect where there are better weights in the first parturition (P <0.5) than in the second one. Litter size is the most influential factor in the development of guinea pig weights and interacts with the variability of other factors such as sex or number of births.
