Sport medicine and safety at work

Abstract

The man, more and more sedentary, lost step by step his physical capacities, aerobic, muscular strength, coordination, action-reaction time. This situation can be a reason, not only of absence from work (back pain is the first reason in EU), but especially of accident at work. In this EJTM Comunication we want to combine our experience about exercise physiology and physical capacities with our medical work in critical environment. We want to avoid the mistake to think that critical environment is only a high mountain or a desert. Thus, we consider very important to better define the concept of critical environment.
