Boi Calemba Pintadinho: a folk communication study of the traditional cultural practice

Abstract

This article presents the characteristics of the Boi Calemba Pintadinho, cultural manifestation of Boi Calemba at São Gonçalo do Amarante (Rio Grande do Norte/Brazil) in folkcomunicacional context, through the recognition of the group as a whoopee linked to popular religious theater and also as emergency space and expression of traditional knowledge, the research in question was drawn up from observation techniques, interview, research of the bibliographic collections and photographic records of the cultural group.
