Repolitizando a representação: Uma teoria para inciativas digitais em prol dos processos político-representativos no Brasil

Abstract

The main goal of this paper is to suggest a theoretical framework for the development of digital initiatives worried with the processes of mediation of the political representation in Brazil. In this sense, we debate the problems around political representation, the locus of it in the contemporary theory of democracy, the notion of “representation as communication” and the potentialities of the Internet. In the end, we suggest that digital initiatives for political representation should not try to solve the paradoxical character of the representative systems and can be evaluated for their contribution concerning political information, participation, deliberation and entailment.
