Culpables e inocentes: el juego de los procesos en dos obras de Tirso de Molina y de Rojas Zorrilla
Abstract
This article reports on the close relationship between the scenes of trials and the trials on stage, which are well illustrated in two plays written at the beginning of the 17th Century La mujer que manda en casa by Tirso de Molina and Morir pensando matar by Francisco de Rojas Zorrilla. In these plays, the Queens Jezabel and Rosamund, both guilty of murder, manipulate and play with a complex judicial system, invoking unthruthful and slanderous trials. Finally, once the false trials are revealed, the real trials begin, introducing a sincere reflection on the subject of royal justice and most particularly, guilt and innocence.
