On Repair and “Medicinal Words”
Abstract
The story of Claude Eatherly, beyond the monstrosity of the Second World War, is interesting because it gives us not only a story of suffering and rebirth, but also the awareness of what happens when words such as mental health, offended sense of justice and need for repair enter into a dangerous short circuit. Hence the need to bring together the cognitive potential of a philosophy that explores the dilemmas of the soul with the demands of restorative justice aimed at welcoming the offender and the victim into paths of recovery and rebirth.
