Wyznaczanie granic własnościowych w osiemnastowiecznej Rzeczypospolitej oraz ich trwanie w krajobrazie na przykładzie dóbr kamedułów wigierskich
Abstract
DELIMITING ESTATE BORDERS IN EIGHTEENTH-CENTURY POLAND-LITHUANIA AND THEIR REFLECTION IN LANDSCAPE. ILLUSTRATED WITH THE CASE OF THE CAMALDOLESE CONVENT IN WIGRY The article discusses a case from 1726, when a special committee was established to resolve an ownership dispute and establish a border between the estates of the Camaldolese convent in Wigry and the royal economy of Grodno. The committee made a tour around the relevant area, which resulted in building boundary mounds, measuring the estates and describing the course of the border. The works were continued in later years. The effects are still visible in the con-temporary borders of villages; also some of the mounds have survived until today.
