Original method of assessment of cortical aphasias and neurodinamic speech impairment using computed transformation of speech in the acute period of stroke

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to establish objective criteria fordifferential diagnosis of cortical and subcortical aphasias using amethod of computed transformation of tempo-rhythmic parametersof speech. Patients with cortical aphasia (40) and neurodynamicspeech disturbances (31) were examined in acute stage ofstroke. The features of tempo-rhythmic structure of speech,assosiated with stability of speech syndrome, severity of aphasiaand predominant defect (motor or sensory component ofspeech), were identified. Criteria for diagnostics of neurodynamicspeech disturbances have been proposed, such as thedegree of fluctuations of speech functions which were objectivelyregistered with the help of computed transformation of speehtime parameters.
