Introduction The aim of the present study was to investigate the Short-term effect of grape seed extract (GSE) supplementation on the antioxidant capacity of non-athlete girls following an exhaustive aerobic exercise. Materials and Methods Sixteen non-athletes female students were randomly assigned into 2 groups of grape seed extract (three capsules of 100 mg per day for 4 weeks) and placebo (three capsules of maltodextrin 100 mg per day for 4 weeks). The first blood sampling was done from the brachial vein to measure the blood levels of the antioxidant enzymes mentioned; the second blood sampling was done after the 4-week period, Subjects then performed the Bruce aerobic exhaustive test protocol then, immediately after the finish of this test, the third blood sampling was done. Results The results showed that in terms of the activity of SOD, GPX and POD enzymes, in baseline and post-supplementation, there was no significant difference between the two supplement and placebo groups. The activity of CAT enzyme after the supplementation period was significant between the two groups (p<0.05). The activity antioxidant enzymes in the GSE group in the baseline was significantly lower than after the supplementation period and after the activity (p<0.05). The mean of these enzymes after exercise was significantly higher than supplementation (p<0.05). Were significantly higher in the placebo group after the activity than the baseline and after supplementation (p<0.05). Conclusion According to the results, supplementation of GSE improved the antioxidant enzymes mentioned in non-athlete girls after the aerobic exhaustive exercise.
