We have considerable bibliographies about Pirî Reis and Evliya Çelebi, all of which prove that there are a lot of works about these two important historical figures. Hence, in this article as original research, we try to consider them from a different angle. Historically, Pirî Reis and Evliya Çelebi lived in the XVIth and XVIIth centuries being Ottoman intellectuals and statesmen. In spite of living in different centuries and being categorized as distinct and different groups by modern researchers, we ascertained that both have some similarities. With the aim of proving the claims of this work, we have two kinds of sources. The first is their own works: Bahriyye and Seyâhatnâme. The second is the works created by their contemporaries. The comparison between them revealed two different sorts of parallelism. The first one is, properly speaking, accidental; such as meaning of their names and their places of death, i.e., Egypt, as the last station of their adventure of life. The second one is alikeness in their lives; for example, special importance of their birth places -Gallipoli and İstanbul- in the above-mentioned centuries. In addition, their relationships with their acquaintances as relative, teacher or patron (Kemal Reis and Melek Ahmed Pahsa, etc.) is comparable, too. And lastly, their life styles are also similar; one of the main resemblances is travelling
