Scattering by an Almost Circular Cylinder With Smooth Surface

Abstract

The problem of finding the scattered and diffractedfields of a plane wave by an infinite cylinder witharbitrary cross section presents considerabledifficulty. We discuss a boundary perturbationmethod in which we conformally map the givenarbitrary surface into one which is more easilytreatened. Through conformal mapping thegeometrical characterisitcs of the scattering surface
