The article describes the main approaches to supervision based on the principles of structural family psychotherapy. In many ways, they are consistent with the methods of training supervision, developed with the cooperation of Jay Haley and Salvador Minukhin. In order to understand the essence of structural supervision, it is necessary to have an understanding of the main provisions of the structural approach. Its essence-the creation of a single concept of the existence of the family in the period of time, based on the concept of describing the configuration of space. The structural therapist focuses on subsystems, boundaries, hierarchy, alliances and coalitions, as well as their functional states — cohesion and flexibility. Structural configurations are considered functional or non-functional depending on how they serve the needs of family members throughout the life cycle. The article describes the structural view of therapeutic changes, which is important for understanding the essence of effective supervision.
