O Fenômeno Wikileaks e as Redes de Poder
Abstract
The article discusses the policy implications of the Wikileaks communication phenomenon. From the perspective of Yochai Benkler on how digital networks have altered the ecosystem of communication,increasing the capacity to disseminate information of individuals and organizations. It intends to problematize the categories of power communication and power network in Manuel Castells, as well as therelationship between power and control. Are also showed the prospects of Morozov and Galloway on the democratic and restrictive potential of the Internet distributed architeture. The article also identifiesa new articulation of activism network, inspired by the hacker culture and the collaborative practices. It warns that Wikileaks attacks demonstrate the seriousness and dangers of of key infrastructure management under control of private structures.
