Hermeneutics of the Subject and Experiences of OthernessPaul Ricoeur as a Model
Abstract
Abstract: In his latest hermeneutics, the French philosopher “Paul Ricoeur” ended up designing an entire research program whose aim is to rethink the question of the subject in the light of a radically new concept, namely that of narrative identity. This concept served to include the element of otherness in a way that it could be considered as constitutive of identity in the sense of selfhood, and this through the negative experiences forming, ultimately, the experiences of the otherness such as those of the own body, of others and of moral conscience. Keywords: Hermeneutics, Self, Identity, Story, Experience
