Abstract

Between text and image, when literary classics are adapted into comic strips, the case of : Souvenirs d'enfance by Marcel Pagnol Abstract: Between text and image, the comic strip is the genre par excellence which brings together the "read" and the "seen" and thus completes the reader's imagination by offering him all the necessary elements for his interpretation, and when this comic strip is the adaptation of a classic work, the reader is delighted. This work consists in revealing the importance of the adaptation of the classic text in comic strip and takes for example the autobiographical work of Marcel Pagnol "Souvenirs d'enfance" which was adapted by Serge Scotto, Eric Stoffel and Morgan Tanco in 2015. A semiotic analysis of two vignettes of adaptation reveals the different functions of reading and interpretation. Keywords: Comic strip- semiotics- literary work- Marcel Pagnol
