Abstract This is used as the didactic method for our third-year medical student's clerkship in psychiatry at the University of Texas Medical Branch School of Medicine. It was developed in 2008, and has been used approximately five times. The team-based learning (TBL) instructor who is the facilitator for this module has extensive experience in developing TBL materials and teaching TBL courses. The module includes a list of advanced-preparation readings, an individual/group readiness assurance test, and application exercises with notes to facilitators about the challenging aspects of the module. When used, this module has proven to be a challenging and effective resource for teaching students about anxiety disorders, somatoform disorders, and dissociative disorders. As this resource is designed to be a formal TBL exercise, it should generally be used in that context.
