Coping et agentivité : quand l’accent « étranger » s’invite dans les talk-shows

Abstract

Since the concept of altera lingua refers to situations in which otherness calls into play relations of power around 'languages', discourses and their variations, this study aims to consider the place of pluriphony ('accents') in television talkshows staging rudeness as a spectacle. In addition to studying the micro-aggressions produced in the interests of entertainment, the main aim is to interpret and document the adjustment strategies that reveal agency within interactions in which the 'foreign accent' is thematised. A comprehensive discourse analysis of several television extracts are carried out. The aim of this typology is to consider their integration into the principle of a pronunciation mediation of additional languages.
