This article aims at accounting for the project of a Husserl-inspired foundation of a science of literature. This foundation leads firstly to the task of describing the eidetically definite correlation in which the sense “literary work” happens to be constituted, i.e. the correlation of quasi-reading. The principle of a science of the literary work is then warranted by spelling out two of its main properties: on the one hand, the fact that it is a shaped phantasia, and on the other the specific horizon structure of the imaginary « world » the literary work projects. Finally, we outline some leads of a Husserl-inspired phenomenology of literature.
