Juxtapositions de logiques et de domaines culturels et politiques dans l’État du Maranhão

Abstract

In this article, we seek to show how agents who assert themselves as spokespeople for « culture » and « politics » in Maranhão have determined profiles and activate mediation capacities that guarantee the occupation of leadership positions. The aim is to identify the various factors involved in the struggles for the formation, acquisition, or manipulation of material and symbolic assets conducive to the conquest of high positions, notably to becoming the spokespersons for causes considered legitimate. Derived from interviews, books and tribute collections, the information obtained has been grouped together in databases and synoptic tables to analyze the profiles and actions of multinotabilized agents of the state.
