Development Status of Nuclear Technology Application Industry in China

Abstract

As a comprehensive strategic industry, nuclear technology application has gradually been paid attention to by Chinese government, and in the “13th Five-Year Plan” was formally incorporated into the strategic emerging industries which were prospectively overall arranged by the government. In order to seize the strategic opportunity period of the rapid development of nuclear technology application industry, based on the research of the Report on Advances in Application of Nuclear Technologies (2016-2017), through further investigation and research, this paper elaborates the overall development of nuclear technology applications in industry, medicine, agriculture and social security as well as the latest progress since 2018. This paper also analyses the technical level, industrial scale and development prospect of the above fields. By considering the situation of nuclear technology application, and comparing the economic scale of nuclear technology application industry between China, Japan and South Korea, we describe the development prospect and the trend of nuclear technology application industry in China.
