Objective: to know the perspectives of nurses on the programs of quality management and hospital accreditation. Method: qualitative study of exploratory and descriptive study was conducted with nine nurses in a private hospital in the interior of Rio Grande do Sul, through a roadmap for semi-structured interviews. After, there was the categorization of data and interpretation to Content Analysis. Results: were organized in the categories: Conceptions of nurses on quality management and hospital accreditation programs, quality management and organization of nursing work and use of tools for quality management programs indicators and in-service training. Conclusion: hospital accreditation is a powerful tool in the management, because it standardizes and describes the processes of the hospital organization. Thus, it is necessary that professionals maintain continuous search for innovations aiming at the quality of care
