Paratopie spatiale dans Les Princes Noceurs de la Vieille Cour

Abstract

We propose in this article to identify how the concept of paratopy, defined by D. Maingueneau as the impossible belonging, could act as a mechanism for deciphering meaning in the novel Gallants of the Old Court written by Mateiu I. Caragiale. First, we will consider the positioning of our research within the theoretical framework of literary discourse analysis. Then, based on the problematic nature of the continuous oscillation between integration and marginality, characteristic to the concept of paratopy, we intend to show that the paradoxical location represents the core around which biography of the three gallants is developing.
