An analysis of the events from the beginning of the aggravation of relations between Ukraine and the Russian Federation suggests that practical measures to counter the information and psychological influences from the enemy were ineffective. The development and informatization of society requires the armed forces to take new approaches to the conduct of armed struggle, the center of which is being intensively shifted from the battlefield to the information space, where the main battle for man takes place, through his internal emotional state. The emotional state plays a huge role in the process of preparing and manipulating a person’s consciousness or the mass consciousness; effects on motivation and rational thinking are carried out. The goal is to change the behavior patterns of certain target audiences. This enhances the negative psychological impact. When creating materials for organized targeted intervention in the consciousness, it is necessary to consider how the person (target audience) will perceive the information provided. The purpose of this article is to analyze the peculiarities of the perception and response of society (certain target audiences) to the information that circulates in their information space. It determines the classification of target audiences according to the methods of perception and response to the information produced.
