Mirza Muhammad Katib is one of the poets who lived and worked in Shusha in the 19th century, who played a role in the development of literary life in Karabakh. Mir Mohsin Navvab (1833-1919), who personally knew the poet in his tazkire "Tazkir-iNavvab" reports that he was from the Chukhur Mahalle place of the city of Shushi, wrote verses in various genres, is the author of verses in the amount of almost 2000beits. Muhammad aga Mujtahidzade (1875-1956) in his tazkire "Riyazul-ashigin" gives a brief message about the poet. From the literary heritage of Mirza Muhammad Kyatib, only a few verses survived that were rewritten by literary scholars Salman Mumtaz and Aliabbas Muznib. The late employee of the Institute of Manuscripts Nasreddin Garayev in his anthology "Poetic Madjlises" and the monograph "Azerbaijan Literary Madjlises of the XIX century" speaks about the life and work of the poet using written sources. In 2004, the researcher Samira Ganjeli published poems of the poet that have reached us at the Shusha publishing house. Researchers speak of Mirza Mohammed Katibi as an ideological friend of the founder of the Azerbaijani national drama MirzaFataliAkhundzade, a progressively minded poet. The poet wrote his poems in classical genres, including the author of several goshmas.
