El movimiento estudiantil de 1968 como inicio de la transformación democrática en México
Abstract
The article deals with the impact of the violent suppression of the student manifestation at the Tlatelolco Square in 1968. Instead of helping the PRI regime to politically and diplomatically use the Olympic Games in Mexico D. F. that year, the repression heavily shattered the regime’s reputation. The author concludes that the events of 1968 finally helped the country’s transition to democracy and that should be considered as the first step towards political plurality.
