MENTAL DISORDER AFFECTS THE LABORAL INSERTION AND THE INFORMAL SECTOR?

The study characterized the insertion in the labor market, scholar degree and economic status of people with mental disorders. It is a descriptive cross-sectional study, conducted in 2014, in two open psychosocial care services in Mato Grosso. A structured questionnaire with demographic data and school/ work functioning during the years of mental disorderwas applied in a random sample of 73 patients (universe = 300). Of the 61 (83.6%) who worked before the mental disorder, 26 (35.6%) are still active. There was a decrease of 38.5% in formality with informality rise. Licenses (19.0%) and pensions (28.6%) were prevalent male, and 57.1% of absences are related to mental disorder. Unemployment reached 37%, especially those over 55 years (41.7%). Mental disorder damagescause exclusion from the labor market, increasing informality, affectssocial pension and reinforce the vulnerability of this population, constituting topic to be included in the nursing SingularTherapeutic Project
