THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION BEGINS THE 2016th: IS THE COUNTRY WAITING FOR THE ECONOMIC SLOWDOWN, DEPRESSION OR UPTURN?

Abstract

The review and the analysis of basic macroeconomic indicators for the Russian Federation are provided for determining the way of economic development in 2016. The attention is focused on economic phenomena of recession and stagnation and arguments are presented towards the validity of their use to characterize the economic situation in Russia. The economists' and financiers' estimations about the short-termed predictions of the country's development are analyzed.
