Dynamic behaviour analysis between upstream and downstream enterprises with the predator–prey relationship
Abstract
Based on the similarity between industrial cluster and biological population, this paper attempts to study the dynamics of niche between upstream and downstream enterprises with the predator–prey relationship from a new perspective of population ecological theory. A predator–prey model on upstream and downstream enterprises with the Holling II response function is established. Via limit cycle theory, stability theory, and system analysis methods, the interrelation of the inventory level in upstream and downstream enterprises is studied and some corresponding meanings of management are discussed. In addition, numerical examples are given to verify the correctness of the conclusions. Finally, according to the relevant conclusions, some policy suggestions are provided for the development of upstream and downstream enterprises in cluster supply chain.
