La autotransfusión en el hemotórax masivo

Abstract

Six cases of autotransfusions in Hemotórax masivo are presented, practiced in the Emergency Ward of the San Juan de Dios Hospital in the past six months. A simple method of extracting the blood from the thoracic cavity is described. This method is recommended in cases of Hemotórax masivo that suffered shock, or in grave cases of hemorrhaging caused during the intervention of heart and lung surgery.
