Pengetahuan Dan Perilaku Anak Sekolah Tentang Kecacingan Di Beberapa Sekolah Dasar Di Kecamatan Labuan Kabupaten Donggala Tahun 2012
Abstract
Helminth infections in children is generally higher in children than in adult because of children have a lower knowledge and attitude compare to adult thAt lead them to a lacking in personal hygiene. In order to assess the knowledge and behavior of school children about helminth, a cross sectional study was conducted in I0 elementqry school in Labuan Sub District on January 2012. 241 stool samples were collected and 454 respondents were interviewed on this study. The prevalence of helminth infections in children in Labuan Sub District is 17,01%. The children knowledge about symptoms and model of transmission were still low. Howeveti children's behavior, for instance washing hands before eating and after defecating using footwear when playing outside showed a positive practice. A regular counseling are needed to improve the school children's knowledge and behavior.
