The Roman College of Holy Mary was established by the founder of Opus Dei in 1953 to provide a better preparation for the women who would undertake tasks of formation and government in a number of different countries. From 1959 and 1962 the College was closed. The reopening took place in Castel Gandolfo in 1963, with a special feature: studies in Pedagogy. This article describes the process of the acquisition of the premises, the vision of the founder of Opus Dei, the evolution and objective of these courses in education, and the meetings of the students and lecturers with Paul VI and John Paul II.
