Non-formal education in soup kitchens: Formative preferences of organized women in Latin America

This paper is part ofwider research leading to a doctoral dissertation carried out in the Department of Didactics and School Management in the University of Granada (Spain). This study deals with three different working areas developed in a self-managed comedor popular (community kitchen), in the district of Puente Piedra and other marginal districts in Lima (Pero).The paper aims to promote learning from a development education perspective, in order to maximise the skills of a great number of adult women, working daily with motivation and courage in marginal areas in many countries. For this reason, apart from putting forward sorne reflections on the topic, the results of our research will be presented, focusing on the training preferences and needs of the women we worked with and leamt from.
