Bones and ivories objects from the late imperial age are today considered items of great and artistic value. A production linked to the wealthiest backgrounds, which began around the 1st century b.C. and over at the beginning of the Vth, in a rich repertoire of images and symbols con-nected mostly to the pagan world and which find their production in orien-tal craftshops of the Empire, heirs of the great Hellenistic culture, dear above all to the high imperial and to its propaganda.
