Countryside Education and Ethnomathematics: a possible articulation?

The present work had as general objective to investigate how the work with Mathematics in the Field Education is accomplished, from a look on the Ethnomathematics. This study had as its axis the discussions about Mathematics, Ethnomathematics and Rural Education. For the development of the work, we made a bibliographic study developed from the following authors and documents: D'Ambrosio (1990, 1993, 2005b), Carvalho (1994), Almeida (2013), National Curriculum Parameters of Mathematics (BRASIL, 1998) and the Law of Guidelines and Bases of National Education (LDBEN) No. 9394/96 (BRASIL, 1996). We also made observations from the classes of two 5th grade elementary school teachers and interviewed them. We believe that the research will contribute to the formation of educators and teachers who seek to value the knowledge brought by their students and also a deepening in their teaching practice.
